Why I Was In Market

I suffer from male pattern baldness - yes, shed a tear for me. Luckily I'm married and don't need to impress anyone, but like everyone should, I like to look my best. In the past, I've gone with washed and towel dryed hair that's been bed-head styled to make it the forehead and top of my head look fuller with hair. This is an OK attempt, but I grew tired of settling for something that only worked for half the time and certainly wrecked havoc when a slight breeze hit my face. My hair would eventually get moved around very easily and to put it back in place, I'd take a hand to it adding oily weight to it. By the end of the day, I had a wet thin look to my head and you can easily see my scalp. I needed a product to help me control my hair and make it look fuller! Research

After a bit of research as to what type of product I would need. My primary evaluation factors had me focusing on a top hold but with a low shine and wet look. After reading a few reviews about creams, fibers, and clays, I really became confused and needed an easy way to understand what the ideal product would be for my needs. As an "educated consumer", I came across a great resource on the internet which would give me just that.

I knew that I needed to be in the upper left corner. After reading a few reviews on several products, I came to the conclusion that I would benefit from a Fiber since it would give me that texture that would look natural. From there, it was finding the right brand.

Selecting the Right Brand

I had an American Crew Cream in the past and felt good about it, but I wasn't thrilled with the smell. I'm the type of person that needs only 1 smell and don't like various products like deodorant, hair products, and moisturizes changing my scent. That's for my cologne to do! So after noticing Smooth Viking across my options, I read several folks who came from American Crew and had positive experiences. With a price fairly low, the risk was fair enough for me to try.

The Product

After it arrived, I gave it a shot on both wet and dry hair and was fairly happy with the results. There is pretty much no smell which I found to be a relief coming from American Crew.

the packaging and texture the fiber cream creates for my hair is great. It does this while maintaining a solid hold for most of the day with a limited shine. This is the type of product that what I was looking for - natural!

This can will certainly last me a while since all you need is a small amount rubbed between your hand to heat up then into your hair. For about the cost of a lunch, this product will stay with me for many weeks of daily use.

I found this product to stay in your hair fairly well through the night and into the next morning making it quick and easy to re-sculpt my hair without needing to apply more of the fiber cream. I did notice that continuously putting my hand through my hair did eventually remove it a bit at a time. The longevity evaluation factor doesn't score solid points but has me covered for my working and commuting hours.

Room for Improvement?

After using this product for several weeks now, I'm finding there are things I'd wish Smooth Viking's Fiber Cream did better. After a mid-intensity workout session, I find my hair gets a big limp and the cream loses it's hold much sooner than I'd like. I'm not sure if any product out there can wick away sweat from hair, but it's something that requires I wash and reapply after the gym.

While it's not the perfect product that makes my bald spots completely disappear and holds my hair in the perfect shape forever, I'm happy to make this part of my re-order routine since it's very affordable and meets all of my primary evaluation factors.
