Why I Was In Market
As the owner of a dog - a beautiful long legged wheaten terrier - I have to clean up after she has done her business. As long as she's alive and I hope that's for a long time, I will need to clean up after her at least twice a day. This is a prime product to ensure I carry extra on hand and that doesn't send me to the poor-house. I needed a product to consistently collect my dog's poop without breakage or leakage! Are you looking for the best dog pet poop bags?
Research
To be fair, there doesn't need to be much research and I'm only really aiming to buy something that work today and will continue to work time after time. As a father of two little girls, I don't want to have to worry about having the right bags so buying from Amazon is the easiest choice.
Convenience is important and so buying this product in bulk was a must have to not only save money, but not worrying about a refill. My Amazon order history shows that buying around 1000 bags at a time allows me have enough poop bags for over 14 months.
Selecting the Right Brand
Selecting the right brand really comes down to stability. The risk of buying a poor brand means that I'd end up with poop on my hands and all that plastic would be thrown away (sans poop). Gorilla Supply has a very good reputation on Amazon and the thickness of the bags reflect that they know what the appropriate strength of the plastic needs to be to take care of your dog's movements. The cost per 1000 for Gorilla Supply bags also make this brand very affordable. Some colors were more expensive when I was shopping but for me that didn't matter.
The Product
The real test comes after many months of use and multiple purchases throughout the years I can confirm if the low cost & bulk quantity purchase was worth it.
In the 4 years that I've been purchasing these bags, I've never once had poop on my hands and the hold in the smell very well. They fit snuggly inside their carrying case and rip easily away from each other in the roll. When opening the bag, it covers my entire hand through to my mid forearm - plenty of space between me and the poop. The size & hold evaluation factor checks out.
These specific bags don't have a masking fragrance and that's fine by me. At the end of the day, I don't want lipstick on a pig. The smell evaluation factor checks out.
I can honestly say that in the whole lot of 1000 bags, I would commonly have an issue with 1 or 2 bags that ripped when I was opening them to prepare for a pick-up. In my book, that's phenomenal. The value evaluation factor checks out.
Room for Improvement?
Because of the sheer value and consistency of this product, there isn't much in ways that the Gorilla Supply poop bags can get better. The only thing that I've ever noticed that I wish was improved is much around the bundled-in bag dispenser. At times, the roll of bags (depending on where it's ripped) can pull itself back into the dispenser requiring you to open and re-feed the roll. It's a minor inconvenience at most and to pick up my dog's poop, I'm not going to invest into a costly dispenser.
Bottom Line
If you have a dog, and that dog poops, you're going to need bags to pick it up. You better! In that case, I strongly recommend you purchase these bags made by Gorilla Supply!
I'd love to hear your thoughts on Gorilla Supply Poop Bags or a product you find that woks better.
